JEE Main 2026 Eligibility Criteria

JEE Main 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates seeking to appear for JEE Main 2026 must meet specific eligibility criteria set by the National Testing Agency (NTA) to ensure a streamlined and fair selection process. The guidelines encompass requirements related to educational qualifications, attempts, age, subjects, nationality, and marks for subsequent admissions.

Quick Glance on JEE Main 2026 Eligibility Criteria

  1. Educational Qualification

  • The primary requirement is that candidates must have either qualified Class 12/equivalent in 2024, 2025, or be appearing in 2026 from any recognized board or university.
  • Acceptable qualifying examinations include examinations from recognized central or state boards, NIOS, two-year pre-university exams, public/university exams in India or abroad recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), Higher Secondary Certificate vocational exams, advanced level exams (like GCE), International Baccalaureate diploma, and equivalent diplomas for technical education (AICTE recognized).
  1. Subjects in Qualifying Examination

  • For admission to B.E./ B. Tech courses, Physics and Mathematics are compulsory subjects, along with one of Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, or Technical Vocational Subject in Class 12 or equivalent.
