The only national level UG medical admission exam in India is called NEET (National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test). For admission to more than a million MBBS, 27,000 BDS, and 52,000 BAMS/BHMS/BUMS/BSMS seats in government and private medical colleges in India, NTA administers NEET each year.
The NEET UG 2026 notification is expected to be released by the National Testing Agency (NTA) in February 2026. NEET UG 2026 is a medical entrance exam in India that will be conducted on May 3, 2026, in pen and paper or OMR mode. There are 200 multiple-choice questions in the NEET exam; 50 from each of the four subject areas—physics, chemistry, zoology, and botany. The question paper is divided up into two sections for each subject: Part A has 35 questions, and Part B has 15 questions. Only ten questions are required to be answered in Part B. There will be 200 minutes in total for the exam. Based on NEET UG results, AIIMS, JIPMER, AFMC, and other public and private universities admit students to UG medical programs.

The application form can be filled out online by candidates via the website. NEET 2026 Application Form will be available on the first week of February 2026.
2nd week of March 2026 will be the deadline for submitting the application. A different method besides online access will be used to supply the application form. When submitting an online application, NTA also offers the NEET 2026 correction opportunity. You have only one chance to edit the application within this period. In the 3rd week of March 2026, the correctional facility will open.

Exam Mode: The NEET 2026 exam will be administered offline, using pens and paper.
Language: Thirteen languages—English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Malayalam, Kannada, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Telugu, Tamil, and Urdu—will be used to administer the test.
Duration- Candidates will have three hours and twenty minutes to finish the test.
Question Type: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) will make up the question paper.
Marking System: +4 marks will be awarded for each right response. For each wrong response, -1 mark will be subtracted.
Both government-run and private colleges are eligible for the NEET scholarship. But in both cases, the percentage of scholarships differs. Students who study BDS or MBBS at government colleges are eligible for 100% of the tuition for four years under the NEET scholarships. However, they can receive a subsidy of 50% of the tuition in the first year of their MBBS or BDS program if they attend a private college.
AIPMST (All India Pre-Medical Scholarship Test)- One of the most well-liked scholarships for Indian medical students is the AIPMST (Secondary). Its primary goal is to assist students who passed the NEET exam and wish to continue their medical study. By offering scholarships, AIPMST gives applicants who wish to enroll in BDS, MBBS, BAMS, BUMS, or BHMS an opportunity to demonstrate their abilities.
Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship For College & University Students- The Department of Higher Education of the Human Resources Development Ministry offers this scholarship to students who pass the NEET exam. Candidates from low-income families are immediately awarded scholarships under the Central Sector Scholarship Scheme for College and University Students. Students in the general category who are in the reserved category are also eligible for this scholarship.
In 3rd week of June 2026, the NTA will announce the NEET Result 2026. There will also be a link to the NTA NEET result 2026 here. The subject-wise percentile, total marks, All India Rank (AIR), and the category-specific NEET passing marks will all be included in the neet.nta.nic.in result 2026.
NTA will release the result PDF and the NEET 2026 cut off marks. It is the minimum required score needed to be eligible for NEET. Different categories have different cut off marks. The admissions or counseling procedure for NEET 2026 will start about a month after the results are announced.
