EXAM PATTERN

TG TET 2026 EXAM PATTERN

The TGTET test is administered by Telangana's Department of School Education in accordance with the established format or framework. Papers 1 and 2 make up the two papers in the TG TET exam. Candidates who seek to teach classes one to five should take the TG TET Paper 1, and those who want to teach classes 6 to 8 should take Paper 2. In order to teach Classes 1 to 8, candidates must take both Papers 1 and 2. Paper 1 and Paper 2 of the TG TET Exam Pattern 2026 have different patterns. Every question on the TG TET 2026 exam will be an objective multiple-choice question, in accordance with the exam pattern. One mark is assigned to each question. In the exam, there is no negative marking.

General Structure

  • Papers: Two (Paper 1 for Classes 1–5, Paper 2 for Classes 6–8)
  • Type of Questions: Objective-type Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
  • Total Questions per Paper: 150
  • Total Marks per Paper: 150
  • Duration: 2 hours 30 minutes (150 minutes) per paper
  • Marking Scheme: +1 mark for each correct answer; no negative marking for incorrect or unattempted answers
  • Medium: English and the candidate’s chosen Language-I (Telugu, Urdu, Hindi, Bengali, Kannada, Marathi, Tamil, or Gujarati)
  • Mode: Computer-Based Test (CBT) or Offline (as per latest notification)
  • Attempt: No limit on the number of attempts

Key Points

  • No negative marking: Candidates are not penalized for wrong answers.
  • Bilingual Paper: The question paper is provided in English and the selected Language-I. For Sanskrit, the paper is in Telugu and Sanskrit (Devanagari script).
  • Qualifying Marks: General – 60% (90/150), OBC – 50% (75/150), SC/ST/PwD – 40% (60/150).
  • Syllabus: Based on the National Curriculum Framework (NCF) and Telangana State Board standards for Classes I–VIII.

Mathematics & Environmental Studies (Paper 1)

  • Mathematics: Covers basic concepts, problem-solving, and pedagogy for primary classes.
  • Environmental Studies: Focuses on environmental awareness, science basics, and pedagogy.

Mathematics & Science / Social Studies (Paper 2)

  • Mathematics & Science: For subject-specific teachers; includes content and pedagogy.
  • Social Studies: For Social Studies teachers; includes history, geography, civics, and pedagogy.
