ILSAT 2026 – Eligibility Criteria

The ILSAT 2026 (ICFAI Law School Admission Test) is an important gateway for candidates aspiring to pursue undergraduate law degrees (BA-LLB (Hons.), BBA-LLB (Hons.), and BAJ-LLB (Hons.)) at the ICFAI Law School, Hyderabad. To ensure valid applications, candidates must meet specific eligibility norms in terms of academic credentials, age, and other requirements.

Educational Qualification

  • 10+2 Pass Requirement:Candidates must have passed Class XII (or equivalent) in English medium, securing at least 50% aggregate marks in a single attempt. The stream can be any discipline, provided the medium of instruction was English.
  • Candidates Awaiting Results:Candidates who appeared for their Class XII final exams before July 14, 2026 (tentative for 2026) and are awaiting results may also apply. Such candidates will be granted provisional admission and must submit final mark sheets by the specified deadline (usually around September) confirming eligibility. Failure to submit these documents leads to automatic cancellation of provisional admission.

Age Limit

  • Maximum Age:Applicants should be no more than 21 years old as of the day of commencement of Semester I (typically end of July for the academic year). The date of birth as recorded in the Secondary School Certificate will be considered final.
  • BCI Guidelines:Any changes in age limit as per Bar Council of India (BCI) norms will be followed by ICFAI Law School.

Other Requirements

  • ILSAT Qualification:Candidates must appear for and qualify the ILSAT 2026 conducted by ICFAI Law School, Hyderabad. Admission is strictly merit-based, factoring in the entrance exam score and performance in subsequent personal interview.
  • Exemption from ILSAT:Candidates with valid CLAT or LSAT India scores may be exempted from ILSAT. In such cases, admission will be through their national level exam score, followed by a personal interview.
  • Single Attempt:The minimum required marks should be achieved in a single attempt in the qualifying (Class XII) exam.

Provisional Admission & Documentation

  • Admission remains provisional for candidates awaiting results until submission of required documents.
  • The usual last date for submitting proof of qualifying examination marks is in mid-September.
  • Admitted candidates must provide original documents for verification as per ICFAI's instructions.
